The Place

4,600 acres of rugged Ozark wilderness — and the soul of American golf.

Big Cedar Lodge sits high in the Missouri Ozark Mountains, overlooking the 43,000-acre Table Rock Lake near Branson. Founded in 1987 by Johnny Morris — the visionary behind Bass Pro Shops — it began as a private passion project rooted in conservation and the romance of the American outdoors.

It has since grown into America's #1 Golf Resort and the #1 Resort in the Midwest. What makes it singular is the lineup: Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Fazio, Coore & Crenshaw, Gary Player, and Arnold Palmer — all designing on one property. Payne's Valley became the first fully public-access course ever drawn by TGR Design.

The Six Battlegrounds

Six courses.
Six legends.
One stage.

The order of play is decided on arrival. What's certain is that every fairway here was drawn by someone who has shaped the modern game.

Why This Place Matters

Big Cedar Lodge isn't just a golf resort — it's a conservation statement, a living tribute to the American wilderness. It is the only place on earth where you can play courses by Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Fazio, Coore & Crenshaw, Gary Player and Arnold Palmer in a single stay. For the Influent Tour, this is more than a destination — it is a landmark chapter.

Weather & Shoulder Season

Crisp mornings, playable afternoons.

I want you to land in Missouri with a full picture, not a brochure. Here is exactly what to expect from the sky in the second week of November — and why local pros still call it one of the best windows of the year to play Big Cedar.

What "shoulder season" means here

November is Big Cedar's shoulder season — and that works in our favour.

Big Cedar Lodge treats November through February as its golf shoulder season: the resort is quieter, tee sheets open up, and green fees drop from peak-summer pricing. Buffalo Ridge, Ozarks National, Payne's Valley and Mountain Top all stay open year-round, weather permitting, and the maintenance teams keep the surfaces in tournament condition right through autumn.

Frost delays are possible on a cold morning, so we build the schedule around late-morning tee times. The hardwoods are deep red and gold in the second week of November, the courses are at their most photogenic, and you are almost certainly playing in a sweater — not a rain jacket.

Why this week still works for golf
  • Average daytime highs of 12–16°C — perfect walking weather, no heat fatigue.
  • Roughly 60% of November days in Branson are sunny or partly sunny.
  • Courses are open year-round; carts often run with thermal covers and warmers.
  • Lower demand = better tee times, more space on the range, faster pace of play.
Tailor the trip

Want to add an NFL game, a concert, or an extra day?

Beyond the six rounds, the trip is yours to shape — an NFL or NCAA football game in Kansas City or St. Louis, a night out in Nashville on the way home, a guided bass-fishing morning on Table Rock Lake, a Bass Pro Shops flagship tour, or a spa day at Big Cedar. Tell me what you'd love to do and I'll build it in.

All add-ons and the final itinerary are confirmed once we have gathered a group of at least 8 players — that's when pricing on transfers, courses and extras locks in, and we sit down together to design the week.
